I think I understand parents pretty well, since I have two moms and a dad and was one for the past few years. They tend to want only the very best for you, even if it causes you to feel uncomfortable or stressed. They also seem to not understand that we usually now more about our problems then they do. Parents become overprotective when they feel they are losing their children to society, relationships, work, or even simply age. They become stricter and more clingy when these things occur, usually causing conflict between your parents and yourself. Even though we get angry towards our parents at these times, we must also understand their point of view. To them, we will always be their babies. So they feel like they must always, for any and all reasons, be there to protect us from harm. But this is honestly only one type of parent, others may allow their children to roam and explore themselves. Some might spoil us, and many try to control us. I tried to control my brothers in the years that I was their parent, but it only made them more rebellious. So, in my opinion, it is hard to be a parent. But it's also hard to be the child of that parent, especially if they try to control you. Honestly, both sides are hard, one's a just a lot more stressful then the other.

dA Life #01: Sharing Your ArtWelcome to the first dA Life blog, a series created to help you enjoy your time on dA and use it's many tools for sharing your art, appreciating other people's art and taking part in the wonderful community that we have here.
Your gallery is the most obvious place to share your art but there's more to it than simply uploading.  Lets get started with putting your art in your gallery:

If you want to categorise your art into easily browsable sections, you can add folders to your gallery. Here are some useful FAQs about how this can be done:

If you'd like to give your gallery folders an extra blast of your personal style, you can do this using CSS, as explained in this FAQ:

If you'd like to share your work with like-minded artists, find a broader audience for your work or simply seek feedback from others deviants, you can do this with dA's Groups feature. To browse Groups, check
Seven at Seven: DeviantART Community Tips What is This Article About?
This mini-journal feature is focused on seven helpful points, posted at seven (EST time.) Within this article, I hope to feature anything of a varied nature to guide deviants as they navigate daily through the vast, growing community. The first issue highlights seven helpful community tips that anyone can take advantage of.
So, with introductions out of the way, let’s dive right in.
One of the important things that will make the most of your community experience is in how you present yourself: positive or negative. Do be aware that you and you alone make the daily choice in how you approach others as a deviant. This may seem obvious: but unfortunately, not always considered before leaving a comment. Believe it or not: how you interact with the community leaves a mark, impacting yourself and others, in
A Guide To Connecting And Sharing On DAWhat's this all about?
DeviantArt is a HUGE website and it's easy to feel invisible, especially if you're new. The aim of this guide is to help you start connecting with other artists and their work as well as sharing your own art and encouraging feedback and interaction. It would be impossible to cover absolutely everything in one journal, so consider it a starting point and get ready to go exploring! I've included a few helpful links under each section, so you can use these as springboards to help you bounce around and find out more.

Get in the right mindset
The first thing to do is stop thinking simply in terms of what you want to get. DA, like a lot of places on the web, is a social experience. I
